[CONFERENCE] CECOMA 2016 - Challenges in the Environmental Management of Coastal and Marine Areas25 Jan 2016
25 to 29 of January 2016, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain
ECOAQUA and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will organise the CECOMA 2016 congress from 25 to 29 January 2016 in the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain.
The main subject of the CECOMA 2016 conference will be the challenges in the environmental management of costal and marine areas. The sustainability of this sensitive and valuable piece of territory requires the coexisting of traditional uses, result of the folklore, and the modern uses, product of technological development in nowadays society. Both require the maintenance of the quality, richness and diversity of littoral areas and together they can supply new resources to the population of the coastal zones.
Several topics will be discussed namely: Topic 1 – Ecosystem Conservation and Aquaculture Topic 2 – Aquaculture and Marine Protected Areas Topic 3 – Key Habitats and Ecosystem Services Topic 4 – Habitats Connectivity and Resilience Topic 5 – Trends in Aquaculture and Fisheries Topic 6 – Coastal and Marine Ecotourism Topic 7 – Management Strategies in Aquaculture and Fisheries Topic 8 – Exotic and Invasive Species Topic 9 – Citizen Science Programs: Education and Public Awareness Topic 10 – Marine Spatial Planning
Registered participants are invited to present proposals for short oral presentations or posters. Please see the instructions for abstract submission in the website. Abstract submission until 11 October 2015.
